Not a New York Minute
New York Fucking City. One of my favorite cities in the United States solely because of the food scene. I feel like I need 5 years of living there to conquer the top restaurants and rooftop bars. The city is a melting pot of cultures, experiences, and cuisines, and has a place for everyone to catch a vibe. Even just walking through the financial district filled with huge skyscrapers or crossing over the Brooklyn Bridge to get the neighborhood feel, there are so many different charms on every corner.
When it comes to meals, New York is a foodies dream. Among some of my top recommendations, Italian and Sushi are the two most cuisines I crave when traveling here. Lilia has a great environment for Italian food and I highly recommend their house-made Focaccia bread. Bondst is a must-make reservation for delish sushi and if I could eat their tuna pizza every day, I would. Lastly, Odeon is the place to be with a classic Parisian ambiance and fantastic menu.
Cocktail O'Clock...
No trip to New York is complete without exploring the city's vibrant bar scene. Maison Premiere is a Brooklyn hotspot known for its award-winning cocktails and oyster bar. If you prefer your drinks with a side of stunning views, head to Grand Banks which is right on Pier 25. I love going to older staple bars in the city but I also love finding the nearest rooftop Aperol Spritz. I swear it's my favorite city to drink in and try new cocktails.
For some activities, my #1 must-do is a picnic or walk through Central Park. For some history with a dose of a cocktail, there are multiple bars in Grand Central Station that are fun to see all the business the city brings. I am also obsessed with thrift shopping in New York and I feel like every time I come home with some goodies. I would also recommend taking a couple of days outside of the city to visit The Hamptons or Long Island for some quiant views. There is just so much to do!
New York always has something going on and I love the fact that you could start the day with one plan and end up on a completely different path. There is so much room for spontaneity. Whether you are a foodie, a culture seeker, or looking for an adventure, there is always something to discover and keep you busy. New York City is truly an unforgettable destination.
